Pro Hunting
Some people love it, some people hate it, but I have some reasons why you should love hunting. The strongest reason I have for hunting is that it’s a way to help provide food for my family; I do not hunt just for the sport. I also believe that hunting is a good way to connect with nature and learn about the environment. Studies also show that when managed properly, hunting is a humane form of wildlife management. Let’s look deeper into some of these reasons.
My main purpose for hunting is to help provide food for my family. Most people who are anti-hunting are willing to eat meat. They buy their package meat in the store and order it in restaurants. They are not willing to go and kill their own meat even though that the meat that they buy has probably been slowly killed or even tortured. If you would like to learn more about the cruelty and contamination of mass production go to www.farmsanctuary.org. If I were able to, I would love to supply all of the meat for me and my family through hunting. Wild game is not treated with hormones, exposed to diseased animals or kept in an over-crowded pen. Unless you are vegetarian, animal rights is not a valid argument against hunting.
The time spent hunting includes many hours of climbing and hiking. To be a skilled hunter you need strong survival skills. You also must have a healthy respect for Mother Nature. Being prepared for snow, sun stroke, rain storms, getting lost or a medical emergency are all things a good hunter knows. Being away from the sounds of the city and looking at all God’s creation make me feel happy inside and makes me think how much time God took on each and every one of these animals. Spending uninterrupted hours with my brothers and step-dad I know we are making memories and laughing at things that I will be able to tell my children about.
Hunting is carefully controlled by the government as a way to manage wildlife resources. The restrict when you can hunt, where you can hunt, what you can hunt for, what kind of weapons you can use, and the maturity of your animal. The sale of hunting licenses, tags, and stamps is the main source of funding for most state wildlife conservation programs. By respecting seasons and limits, purchasing all required licenses, and paying taxes on hunting equipment and ammunition, each hunter makes a big contribution towards helping to protect many species of wildlife and habitat for the future. By paying the taxes on hunting equipment, hunters are contributing hundreds of millions of dollars for conservation programs that benefit many wildlife species, hunted and non- hunted.
I hope that I have shown you some positive aspects of hunting that you may have not thought of before. Many people don’t think about where there food comes from. Hunting forces you to think about of not wasting any thing. There is much more to hunting then just shooting animals. The skills you learn can help you with other things in life. Many of the wildlife sanctuaries and conservation programs are a result funding that came from hunters. I encourage you to talk to hunters in your area if you would like more information.\
